REality R.E. Software was started in 1987 after the founder, Leon d’Ancona, recognized that understanding patterns in the market coupled with selecting the right agents made a huge difference in success or failure. Using his own business as an example, he tracked agents’ complete historical performance to identify those professionals who knew how to market homes and bring the buyers. He then developed algorithms to predict short-term market trends and find which part of the real estate market was moving. Armed with these and other real estate statistics, his business made money while most others went bankrupt during a dramatic real estate decline.
Large real estate companies quickly took notice. They understood the value of these statistics and asked for more. Less than a year later, Re/Max Corporate offices awarded the company the largest statistical information contract in their history. The rest, as they say, is history.
